A body transformation is when someone decides that they want to go through the process of changing their life with regard to their physical body and their mind. You cannot just go from being someone that is X amount of stone overweight to someone that turns heads for the right reason without sorting your head out as well as your body. People that really really want to have a massive shift in their lives with regard to their physical body also have to change their mindset too. There are 5 main aspects that I look for if anyone wants to apply to work with me for a body transformation program.
1 – P.M.A. – they need to have a Positive Mental Attitude. If you say you are going to achieve something, you are correct and the same also goes if you say that you will never achieve something.
2 – Discipline – you need to be disciplined. It is easy to miss your workouts when you are tired or have just finished a night shift of work. It is easy to grab a take away rather than prepare some decent food. It is easy to drink alcohol when everyone else is and you are in a phase where you are not drinking alcohol. But if you have discipline you can deal with these situations.
3 – Toughness – I don’t mean that you need to be an MMA Fighter but you need mental toughness and you need to act like you have a bullet proof coat on. You need to be unstoppable and single minded and not let anyone or anything get in your way. You need you to be persistent, keep your eye on the prize and remember why you are doing what you are doing. There are going to be times when you hit a plateau, when the results slow down or you just feel like chucking in the towel. This is when you need to dig deep within yourself to find that inner strength to keep going.
4 – A Granite chin – by this I mean that you have to be able to take responsibility for your own actions. We all know someone that can’t achieve something but it’s not their fault it is always because of someone or something else. Well people that live like that will never achieve anything because you have to take responsibility for your own actions (or non-actions) and be accountable. Not taking responsiblilty for your own life and actions is like paying for 4 months worth of driving lessons, not attending any of them and then failing the driving test but blaming your driving instructor?! Take your power back and get into the driving seat of your own life. If you find yourself in a situation where you cannot control the outcome, remind yourself that what you can control is your response and attitude towards it.
Here is one of my Body Transformation Clients Sarah.
Sarah came to me as a Size 18 and said she wanted to be a size 10 for her wedding later that year. She knew what she wanted and she was positive she could achieve it… We worked together on this goal.
Sarah was disciplined, she worked 12 hour shifts, day, night whatever they threw at her, but she was still able to train and she was still able to eat to the plan. The end goal was worth more to her than the instant gratification of booze, sleep or a take away. In the run up to her wedding we had to put the brakes on a bit as she was actually getting too small for her Size 10 wedding dress.
